When talk about baby, one thing that will come in our mind is milk. We all know what is milk. But what type of milk is good for the baby? According to the information that get from the Internet, breast milk is good for the babies. Breast milk has various kinds of nutrients that is good for the babies. Also, babies who are breast-fed have fewer colds and ear infections. If you do not want to feed babies with breast milk, may be can use iron-fortified infant formula or try to get some information and advises from the doctor. Please remember that never ever use cow's milk to feed your babies under 1 months. Because cow's milk has too much protein and too little iron for babies.
For new born babies, they just start learning how to suck and swallow liquids. So, we can just feed them with breast milk or iron-fortified infant formula. When babies reach 4 months, they can sit with support and hold their head steady. During this moment, breast milk is not enough for them. They may need other type of food. Baby cereal is a good choice during this moment. At first, try to feed them with spoon. Beside baby cereal, we also can start feeding some food like barley and oatmeal. Do not feed them rice because they still do not know how to chew food on this time.
Normally start from 6 months to 8 months, a baby can grab and hold things. In this moment , they begin to chew. Feed them with porridge. Introduces fruits and vegetable to baby. They will like it. If you think porridge is not enough, put some vegetables into the porridge. Do not stop feeding them milk, feed them both.
When a baby reach 10 months, the baby can chew and mashed food. They also begin to use spoon and cup. We can give them some small pieces soft food to them. Small pieces bread, cereals and crackers can be given to them. Parent should look after them. Remember that not all babies will know to chew food properly, there may be some of them that still do not know how to chew properly. I hope if possibly, parent should stay beside them when feed them. This is the best way to avoid unnecessary accident.
Sometimes, babies do not want to eat. Parent will try to put some honey or sugar in their foods. Actually, this is not the correct way to ecourage babies take the meals. Too sweet is not good for a baby. Be careful with those foods like grapes, apple, candy and hotdog, because all those foods can get caught in baby's throat.
